Long Term Drug Rehabs
At this time many long term
drug rehab programs (3-6 months or more) can easily cost about $40,000. This
would keep it around the average cost in the neighborhood of 7K per month. The
good news is that there are still
long term drug
rehab programs out there that are successful yet more affordable.
Alghouth affordable is a relative term, if someone is looking for the best option their money can buy, then we try to find ways of either stretching that money out longer or locating a program that doesn't cost as much. Our main goal is not to just find the cheapest rehab out there - we want to help you find something that works!

Types of Drug Rehab Programs
It has been demonstrated over and over that a longer-term drug and alcohol rehab program is generally going to be more successful than a short term program, so we do recommend something that is going to be 90 days or more whenever possible but understand that sometimes there might be legitimate restrictions on time.
Someone usually doesn't become fully addicted with their life completely ruined in a month, so to expect it to be fixed in that amount of time is somewhat realistic. Setting aside all of the mental or emotional issues beneath the addiction, there is the damage done to a person's body and the lingering physical effects that take time to heal as well, including cravings for the drugs, aches and pains, sleeplessness, etc.
Common types of rehabs that try to address these symptoms include programs that are holistic in nature and do not use substitute drugs. Leading the pack is something called a biophysical program, which helps to eliminate the drug residues from a person's body and then focuses on an educational component afterward. There are other types of holistic or educational programs as well, but none that are as comprehensive.
Of course the most common type of rehab is a 12-step program. The twelve steps are fundamentally solid in their basic approach to dealing with substance abuse, but the concept and treatment approach has been twisted and altered over the years to mean someone has an incurable disease, that they're always going to be an addict, that they have to fight it one day at a time and that they might have to take medications to treat the symptoms. These alterations have negatively impacted the potential results from what the original 12-step program was all about.
Some long-term centers try to use complete drug replacement therapy, such as methadone maintenance or long-term buprenorphine use. We do not condone this type of program, because our goal is to help someone become drug-free, not swap one drug dependency for another.
The recent White House Administration helped to popularize faith-based programs. These are often heavily rooted in Bible scripture and prayer and run directly by or in association with a church. The best part about these programs is that they are usually much longer-term (6-18 months) and teach people good moral values and to live life without any drugs or alcohol. However, some people don't like to mix rehabilitation and religion, so it is definitely not for everyone.
